Chartered in 1939 to serve the employees of the Southern Pacific S. A. Division Railroad, we remained a single sponsor credit union until 1986 when we expanded our field of membership to the local community. To better describe our role in the community we changed our name to Select Employees Federal Credit Union in 1993. In January 2011 we decided to drop the “Employees” changing our name to SELECT Federal Credit Union. Today we have over 7,000 members and assets totalling over thirty-two (32) million dollars.
We are committed to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People”. Our goal is to offer affordable financial services with better rates, lower fees and more personal service than other financial institutions.
Because we are a member owned, not for profit, financial institution, our members have a say in how the credit union operates. Members are eligible to vote for a Board of Directors each year at the annual meeting. Management of the credit union answers directly to that Board of Directors.
Select Federal Credit Union serves a majority of the eastside area and a large number of community organizations and businesses. We are continually adding new Select Employee Groups (SEGs) to this list of qualifying individuals for membership. If you do not qualify for membership you may want to suggest to your employer to inquire about becoming a SEG.
Our mission is to provide safe, secure and reliable financial services that meet the unique needs of our members and community.
Our members are our most important assets.
We must always be dedicated to providing quality service to our members.
As an integral part of our community, SFCU has a responsibility to reach out to other community members.
The safety and security of our members' financial assets are extremely important and require constant vigilance.
Our employees are key to our success. They deserve the respect and regard of our members, other employees and management.
